Ash Wednesday Release Day

The Public School Board grants students permission to miss school for religious holy days and days of instruction or celebration. All Saints Day, Ash Wednesday and Ascension Day are three celebrations that children (ages 4-12) are permitted to be absent from school. To print a letter requesting your child be excused from school on Ash Wednesday, please click here.

The children will participate in an experiential day of learning about Ash Wednesday and the journey through Lent. Crafts, storytelling, art, and worship will form the foundation of our experience together. We will provide snacks and refreshments. Participants will be responsible for providing their own bag lunches. Program time is from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2010.
