This four week series is of particular interest to newcomers or for those who want to explore how their own faith journey encourages them to seek a deeper understanding of the Church of the Redeemer community. We will be exploring the following areas of faith and community:
The evening begins with dinner at 6 p.m. and the sessions begin at 7 p.m. Please register for this series! A warm welcome awaits you. Servant Songs in Isaiah
Abigail Young, a long time member of Redeemer and biblical scholar, has generously offered to open her Monday evening Bible Study during Lent to welcome participants who are interested in small group discussion. The focus this Lent is on a study of the Servant Songs in Isaiah, or at least the ones that are the Old Testament readings for Holy Week. The series takes place on five Monday evenings from 7 - 8:30 p.m. in the boardroom: February 22, March 1, 8, 15, and 22. Please register to let Abigail know that you are joining the group. Movies That Move Us - The Lenten Edition Long time Redeemer member and couples and family therapist William Cooke expands last spring's popular discussion of how films help us to mourn into a three part series. Participants will examine three films: Departures, Shadowlands and Young at Heart. The series takes place on Tuesday evenings: February 23, March 2, and March 9. Dinner is available from 6 - 7 p.m. for a suggested donation of $10 and the session takes place in the boardroom from 7 - 9 p.m. Please register to let William know that you will be joining the group for dinner and/or the program. Faith on Film Lent 2010's Faith on Film series asks: "Who is my neighbour? And how am I a neighbour?" Stephen Reynolds, Senior Associate Priest and originator of this popular series now in its sixth year will introduce each film and lead the discussion. Dinner in the parish hall is available for a suggested donation of $10 starting at 6 p.m. Screenings begin around 7 p.m. Please register to let Stephen know that you will be joining the group for dinner and/or the screenings. February 25 - The Mission (1986), starring Robert DeNiro and Jeremy Irons

Registration Information for All Events Please register for these events so that we can save you a place at the table. (It helps the hospitality team for the evening with their menu planning to know how many folks they'll be welcoming for dinner and the series leader to know how many chairs to have to set up!) To register please call the church office (416.922.4948), or click here to register online. |
