Serve > Board of Management > Stewardship Stewardship Stewardship is the care and nurture of the gifts we have been given. How do we express our thanks to God for the gifts of time, talent and treasure? How can we freely offer these gifts in a way that is pleasing to God and to each of us? Through the work of the Stewardship committee the community comes to understand the ways in which each of us can support and nurture the ministry that we share through our gifts of money and time. The committee does this through a variety of means. They work with the Financial Advisory committee in establishing a budget each year. They follow giving patterns and provide analysis of that information to assist the Board of Management in understanding what ministry we can nurture each year and the ways in which we can encourage members of the parish to support that ministry. They encourage members of the parish to give of their time and their talent as well as their money. Are you wondering how much to give? This article, originally written for our parish newsletter by Peter Bennett, may be helpful. In addition the committee supports the work of the Lunch Program by assisting the Outreach Worker in applying for foundation grants and reaching out into the broader community to encourage their support of our program through their gift not only of money but also volunteering time in the kitchen helping to prepare lunch for those who come to our program. Ongoing efforts are made to provide opportunities to learn more about what stewardship means and how we can support the parish not only now but into the future with bequests, planned gifts (such as life insurance, annuities, stocks and bonds and real estate).
