In the mid 1980s both the Great and Swell divisions of the organ were cleaned and refurbished. The Choir division was not done at that time. Lower level renovations were undertaken in the late 1990s with the intent to clean the organ at the end of the project. That cleaning did not happen. This is affecting the working condition of the organ. As time goes by, more and more stops and notes cease to work or go out of tune more quickly.
The refurbishment and cleaning of the Choir division will include all new pipes to be racked, the chest cleaned, existing pipes washed, new pipes voiced and existing pipes re-regulated. The Swell, Great, and Pedal divisions will also be cleaned with all pipes removed and washed, chests cleaned and all pipes tuned and regulated.
